This painting has a variety of textured collage materials.  The part I'm most excited about is the rusty area shown above in the detail photo.

It is actual rust that was activated by painting copper sulfate solution on a paint containing iron filings.  After a little while, the dark gray iron paint begins to rust - a very beautiful , if unpredictable, look.

I was kicking myself for not posting the official music video for this wonderful song a few months ago, so I wasn’t going to miss this one. English rock band Muse performed their AMAZING new single “Madness” on Jonathan Ross tonight. The track is taken from the band’s new album, The 2nd Law, which was released in America on October 1^st.

En 2010, New York expirait chaque seconde par les mille pores de la ville deux tonnes de CO2. Pour visualiser ce phénomène, l’agence Carbon Visuals Limited a décidé de faire émerger en grandes sphères bleutées tout le produit de ces émissions à un seul et même endroit à deux pas de l’Empire State Building.

Pour une pression de 1,87 kg par mètre cube aux conditions de température et de pression atmosphérique normales, c’est un ballon de 10 mètres de diamètre qui surgit toutes les demi-secondes par cette trachée imaginaire, bousculant les taxis en quelques secondes, engloutissant les buildings jusqu’à Bryant Park en moins d’une heure puis submergeant Manhattan au bout d’une année d’expiration…

L'empilement de bulles de CO2 est représenté pour une heure, un jour et un an, enterrant Manhattan sous ses rejets de carbone matérialisés.

Wow, here is my 10th gemstone painting - I can't believe I've done so many of these.  I just started teaching a 5 week class in Denver on mixed media.  This was one of our first projects.

These effortless abstracts are a good introduction to acrylics and abstract composition.  The class always enjoys doing them and most students are successful right away.
